Sunset Bridge by Emilie Richards Review & Giveaway

ABOUT THE BOOK
Former socialite Tracy Deloche has nothing to her name but five ramshackle beach cottages and the unlikely friendships she's formed with her tenants. Wanda, wise waitress turned popular pie-shop owner. Janya, the young Indian wife whose arranged marriage surprises her every day. Alice, a widow raising her complex tween-age granddaughter. And Maggie, Wanda's daughter, a former Miami cop with a love life as complicated as Tracy's own.

The new man in Tracy's life hasn't mentioned love or commitment— and Tracy has just discovered she's pregnant. Janya longs to be a mother—and suddenly has two young siblings in her care. Maggie helps out at Wanda's Wonderful Pies…but is the kitchen big enough for both Gray women? And Alice may lose her beloved granddaughter to someone no one expected….
As a tropical storm brews, the wind carries surprises and secrets over the bridge to Happiness Key. Now, more than ever, five friends will discover just how much they need one another.

MY THOUGHTS
First - I want to say how much I love the covers for the Happiness Key novels.  They really set the mood and are just beautiful.  High marks to the art department!

This is the third novel in the Happiness Key series, but by no means the least.  We revisit with old friends, the small group of women whose lives interweave, women who rent the beach cottages from main characer Tracy Deoche.  There is Wanda, Janya, and new character Maggie, Wanda's daughter. Each has their own lives, but the all have a strong bond of friendship.  A tropical storm is brewing and with it, surprises and murder.  Author Emilie Richards pulls out all of the stops in this installment, with the ladies bonds of friendship stretching and reforming.  I'd love to visit Happiness Key, even when the relationships yo-yo and the bonds between mothers and daughters stretches to its thinnest thread.  This is one beach novel you won't want to miss this summer! Love, hope, suspense and mystery all interknit into a remarkable story.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
I have a charming older brother but no sisters. My mother told me stories of her Irish father who wielded his beautiful tenor in many a bar in the Bronx, but never, to my knowledge, managed one. I've been happily married for many years, and if my husband has dark secrets, I have yet to discover them. He is a minister, but I have never found a dead body on our porch or been asked to solve a murder. For this I'm particularly grateful.

And hobbies? I'll confess to the quilt and the gumbo, although in all the years I lived on Florida's Gulf Coast or a stone's throw from Lake Pontchartrain in New Orleans, I never experienced a hurricane.  Now I live in Virginia, but I was born in Maryland.
