Do you give books as gifts?
To everyone? Or only to select people?
How do you feel about receiving books as gifts?
I do give books as gifts, but only to those that are going to read them. I'm not into the "coffee table book" that just sits there or on a shelf for decoration. Books were meant to be read! I am over the moon when I receive books . I absolutely cannot get enough of them, they are just long long friends who I haven't met.
The old grey donkey, Eeyore stood by himself in a thistly corner of the Forest, his front feet well apart, his head on one side, and thought about things. Sometimes he thought sadly to himself, "Why?" and sometimes he thought, "Wherefore?" and sometimes he thought, "Inasmuch as which?" and sometimes he didn't quite know what he was thinking about.

I totally agree with your answer. It's sad to think of a book unread.
