Tuesday Teaser

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

pg 113 - For a second, Spade just stared at Denise's hands.  He'd never seen such a thing before, not in all of his centuries.  Then the panicked, horrified expression on her face snapped him into action.

    Great teaser! I'm a little worried about what's going on with her hands -- I presume he's seen hands before, so it must be something far more shocking :)

The old grey donkey, Eeyore stood by himself in a thistly corner of the Forest, his front feet well apart, his head on one side, and thought about things. Sometimes he thought sadly to himself, "Why?" and sometimes he thought, "Wherefore?" and sometimes he thought, "Inasmuch as which?" and sometimes he didn't quite know what he was thinking about.
