Green Books Campaign: Confessions of a Trauma Junkie & Giveaway

This review is part of the Green Books campaign.Today 200 bloggers take a stand to support books printed in an eco-friendly manner by simultaneously publishing reviews of 200 books printed on recycled or FSC-certified paper. By turning a spotlight on books printed using eco- friendly paper, we hope to raise the awareness of book buyers and encourage everyone to take the environment into consideration when purchasing books.

The campaign is organized for the second time by Eco-Libris, a green company working to make reading more sustainable. We invite you to join the discussion on "green" books and support books printed in an eco-friendly manner! A full list of participating blogs and links to their reviews is available on Eco-Libris website.

One of my favorite TV shows is ER, especially the first few seasons because Clooney is in it.  But TV isn't the same as reality, as we all know.  In Confessions of a Trauma Junkie, Sherry Jones Mayo takes us on  an unforgettable ride, and I'm not just talking about an ambulance ride.

The book does open with the ambulance though, as Sherry is a paramedic.  As the book progresses, so does Sherry through the ER and an onscene critical incident debriefter for Hurricane Katrina.

Through-out the journey, the book is not only told from Sherry's perspective but through others as well.  Emotionally draining and challenging, with some tongue in cheek humor tossed in, this book depicts what many go through changing and saving lives.  This compelling book of essays will give you a deeper appreciation for the medical profession as well as the human spirit.

  2. I'm always fascinated about the lives of medical personnel. I've had a nurse tell me that she's good at using needles in patients, but hates to be stuck by them herself. no need to enter me, just stopping by as a participant in the green books campaign.

Back to the contest, I am here for This for That Linky. This book sounds good and that is good that they are environmentally friendly. I received a Kindle last year for Christmas so I'm trying to get all my books on there. Even though I miss actual books:)
