Please tell us a little bit about your book, Enchanted Destiny.
Thank you for hosting me. Enchanted Destiny is about a witch who had nearly given up on her family tradition when she is confronted with a vision of her destined soul mate. After saving his life, she is bound to him. They must accept their destiny before her 25th birthday, just weeks away, or she will lose her magic forever. Single-dad and handsome guy-next-door, Jake, is in a quandary. There’s no such thing as witches. Is there? Enchanted Destiny follows Kat and Jake to their HEA. It’s a light, fun, paranormal romance.
What inspired you to write Enchanted Destiny?
Gosh, this is the hardest question I get asked. Everything! I read a little, dream a little, observe a little and voila, I have a story plot.
Is there anything about Kat and Jake that only you know? Can you share anything with us?
Kat’s pretty much an open book, though she does wish she had better mommy and wife skills – cleaning house, excellent cook – that sort of thing. Jake has always been the strong one, in control. He secretly loves it when Kat gets all alpha witch on him, and controls their love-making.
Do you believe in soulmates?
I don’t know if you ever have visions about one, but yes, I do think there is one person out there, meant to be with another.
What books are you currently reading?
Just finished Kiss of Snow by Nalini Singh (sigh..that Hawke…double sigh). I’m going through the Royal House of Shadows novellas – on book 2, the one by Jill Monroe; The Darkest Surrender by Gena Showalter, and for about the 17th time, Writing the Paranormal Novel by Steven Harper.
Are you currently working on another novel? If so, can you tell us anything about it?
Oooh yes. I am working on Enchanted Desire, book 2 in the Enchanted series about Kat’s cousin, Gina, and Jake’s best friend, Eric. You simply have to check out the cover on my website < http://www.raykamennen.com/?page_id=92> – its divine. My other novel is the first in a series about an eagle shape-shifter and an Irish witch – still polishing that one to send out.
For those struggling to write that first book, do you have any words of wisdom to share?
You have to submit in order to be published. So, write that novel, no matter how many distractions there are; then send it out to as many agents and editors as you can—you’re not getting anyone to publish this book by keeping it safely at home. Is it scary? Hell, yeah. Is it terrifying? Hell, yeah. But how badly do you want this? That was the lesson I had to learn, about ten years ago. Finish the book; polish the book; send it out. There will always be other demands on your time. Believe you can do it and then do it.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
If Rayka Mennen has failed to see the litte fairies dancing under the toadstools, it’s because she wasn’t looking hard enough. She writes romance because she believes. She writes for the sheer joy of creatng and sometimes, in the process, discovers new worlds and friends. Be it in the country seat of the saturnine Duke, or in the slightly off center world of the reluctant contemporary witch, the humdrum existence of the forty‐something single mom, the fantasy realm of seers and mages, or the deadly double‐life of the secret agent, Rayka offers every reader something to tickle their fancy, to fuel their daydreams, or inspire their own fantasy.
