When I first received My Caring Cross I was really excited. It came in its own burgundy bag, along with an enclosed notecard with a Psalm and the origins of the cross. I immediately held it and it made me feel stronger. To know that I was holding a piece of olive wood, from a tree in Bethlehem, the birthplace of Jesus, just struck a chord with me.
It's beautifully crafted, hand-carved, and fits perfectly in the palm of your hand. My daughter took mine to her Sunday school class and they passed the cross around, each youth expressing how the cross made them feel. When I explained that the crosses could be as a fund raiser, the Sunday school teacher was really interested. We have fund raisers sporadically through-out the year, for church camp and to help those that are in need.
The crosses would also make a great wedding favor. In a cream bag with a card enclosed with the happy couples names and blessing, it will be a wonderful keepsake that they will remember. I hold mine when I need to feel closer to God or I am seeking comfort. With the upcoming holidays, The Caring Cross would make a perfect gift - even though it is great for any occasion or just because.
Right now, My Caring Cross has two specials going on for the Christmas holiday. You can order eight Caring Crosses, delivered Priority Mail within the US for only $36, that's only $4.50 each. Or you can order two Caring Crosses within the US for only $12.00. An incredible deal for a beautiful cross and it will help Christian Artisans in Bethlehem.
One Lucky reader will win their own Caring Cross

The link for My Comfort Cross website does not work so I Googled it. I learned that the CaringCross is made from genuine olive wood in Bethlehem. The carving of Olive wood crafts is a very labor intensive practice with much of the carving done by hand.

ReplyDeleteI learned Christian craftsmen have been carving the branches thinned from the olive trees since the fourth century. Monks from the Church of Nativity built on the site of the birth of Jesus Christ taught the local Christians how to use the olive wood to carve. The process was passed down from generation to generation.
