Shadow Cay by Leona Bodie

ABOUT THE BOOK
Madeleine Nesbitt lives a privileged, sheltered life on a pristine tropical island paradise until the young girl is hauled off the deck of a capsizing ferry. Sixty-two passengers drown, trapped under the hull. Madeleine survives but her innocence dies that day. Despite the odds, she's resilient enough to put her life together. However, nine years later she realizes too late that catastrophe is only the beginning of the dangers that lurk ahead when another maritime disaster hits closer to home. Someone wants to make sure the Nesbitt family never makes it out of paradise alive. One peaceful night in a moonlit Bahamian cover, her parents are violently murdered on their boat, shattering the only security Madeleine's ever known. Now that she's uncovered a global link to her parent's death and a terrorist conspiracy, she's suddenly thrust into a world of international intrigue. Will a psychopath determine her fate or will she find justice before the killers return for the next of kin?

MY THOUGHTS
Madeleine had a serious health problem when she was younger. A birth mark that blossomed as a tumor and became life-threatening was finally surgically removed when she was seven. However, after the surgery, Madeleine was never the same again. She has visions and they are usually of people she doesn't know.

When her parents are murdered, Peter Duncan, the boy who saved her from the ferry, offers his aid to Madeleine. The two are soon in over their heads in a sea of corruption and international intrigue. Rico Salazar has spent most of his life building up his business and he will stop at nothing to keep it secret and stabile.

Shadow Cay is a thriller with a dangerous sexy edge. The characters took me awhile to piece together as their stories start out separately before they weave into the main plot, but once I did, I was captivated. Madeleine is a superb heroine that I can't wait to see in another installment. Bodie writes a fast paced story that ends with a bang. You won't want to miss this one!

The old grey donkey, Eeyore stood by himself in a thistly corner of the Forest, his front feet well apart, his head on one side, and thought about things. Sometimes he thought sadly to himself, "Why?" and sometimes he thought, "Wherefore?" and sometimes he thought, "Inasmuch as which?" and sometimes he didn't quite know what he was thinking about.

Thank you for taking time out of your day to leave a comment. It's appreciated.
