The Star Child by Stephanie Keyes

About The Book
Kellen St. James is just your average seventeen-year-old prodigy, but with a Yale degree, a photographic memory, and an addiction to everything 80s. But what's not so average about Kellen is the girl who's been haunting his dreams for the last eleven years. When the sudden death of his grandmother takes him from the East Coast to the Irish Coast, he finds himself face to face with his own personal ghost and finds out that she's just as real as he is. Plus, she's come spinning a tale about an ancient prophecy in which Kellen plays a key role. Together, they will travel through an underworld of faeries and demons, angels and gods, not to mention a really ticked off pack of wild dogs, all in order to save the world from darkness. But will they make it in time?

MY THOUGHTS
When Kellen's mother died, his father shipped him off to boarding school and from there he went to Yale. His father doesn't show any emotion and tries to buy his son's love. He doesn't even show up for his college graduation, but instead, sending him a luxurious car.

Over the years, Kellen daydreams and his dreams take him to Ireland and to a girl, Calienta. When his grandmother dies and he goes to Ireland, he is shocked to find Calienta, the girl he dreamed of who is now real. She tells him of a prophecy, his role in it and they set off to save the world. Kellen's ancestry plays a key part in both of their futures and as the plot unravels, the reader is kept riveted. With romance, intrigue, hate and fantastic characters, The Star Child is a taut, well-paced young adult novel with memorable characters and a gripping plot. Loved it!

The old grey donkey, Eeyore stood by himself in a thistly corner of the Forest, his front feet well apart, his head on one side, and thought about things. Sometimes he thought sadly to himself, "Why?" and sometimes he thought, "Wherefore?" and sometimes he thought, "Inasmuch as which?" and sometimes he didn't quite know what he was thinking about.

Thank you for taking time out of your day to leave a comment. It's appreciated.
