Mystery of the Puzzle Bones by T.A. Smith

The Mystery of Puzzle Bones is a story about four 12-year-old boys that find a secret hideout and skateboard spot in an unused sewer between their subdivisions. But something is leaving a strange Puzzle of Bones in the Boardunders club house. Something wants to lead them deep down into the sewers – into Hidden Town. A place that doesn’t want to be found and people who will do anything to protect their secret. Suddenly the danger becomes extreme as they are running for their lives. Who can they trust to help them?

Ethan, Caleb, Brandon and Jayden all live in the same housing community.  Average young boys, they like to skate and play video games.  So when they find unused sewer tunnels, they set up their clubhouse, complete with their mascot, Roscoe, Jayden's dog.  As kids are known to do, unfortunately, they bully and when a couple of the boys are on the receiving end of them, they take refuge in the clubhouse.

But then bones begin appearing in the mouth of another tunnel, one near theirs. They are leery of investigating, but one of the boys, who has alot of faith in God, urges the others to explore.  Their exploration takes them to a hidden town - a place where all of the derelicts live and who pride themselves on their secrecy.  They will do whatever it takes to keep their secret and soon the boys find themselves in danger.

A great, clean young adult mystery adventure, The Mystery of the Puzzle Bones is the first in a Boardunders Club series.  The boys will adore this series, but I think the girls will as well.  Mystery, action and modern, with a message of faith weave together into an entertaining, yet educational read.  Simply wonderful!

  1. Sounds like a mystery that i'd enjoy reading even though I'm no longer what you'd call "young adult".

The old grey donkey, Eeyore stood by himself in a thistly corner of the Forest, his front feet well apart, his head on one side, and thought about things. Sometimes he thought sadly to himself, "Why?" and sometimes he thought, "Wherefore?" and sometimes he thought, "Inasmuch as which?" and sometimes he didn't quite know what he was thinking about.

Thank you for taking time out of your day to leave a comment. It's appreciated.
