Evil Dark by Justin Gustainis Review + Giveaway

My name's Markowski. I carry a badge. Also, a crucifix, some wooden stakes, a big vial of holy water, and a 9mm Beretta loaded with silver bullets.

A series of seemingly motiveless murders of supernatural creatures points to a vigilante targeting the supe community. Markowski wouldn't normally have much of a problem with that, but his daughter may be next on the killer's list...

MY THOUGHTS
I'm a big fan of urban fantasy, paranormal and mystery thrillers.  Evil Dark is an urban fantasy police procedural that I couldn't put down.  From page one, you become invested in the lives of Karl and Stan, two guys trying to carve out a living in the Occult Crimes Unit.  They solve murders for all sorts of creatures, whether it be witches, vampires, werewolves or something else.

Not only is the dialogue slick, the humor dark and the cosmos of supernaturals and humans trying to live in the same world, but the action is brash and exciting! This is actually the second book in the series, the first being Hard Spell. However, you can read Evil Dark as a standalone.  Evil Dark is a thrill to the very last page - definitely pick this one up!

The old grey donkey, Eeyore stood by himself in a thistly corner of the Forest, his front feet well apart, his head on one side, and thought about things. Sometimes he thought sadly to himself, "Why?" and sometimes he thought, "Wherefore?" and sometimes he thought, "Inasmuch as which?" and sometimes he didn't quite know what he was thinking about.

Thank you for taking time out of your day to leave a comment. It's appreciated.
