A special blend of biography, history and lore Hollywood Stories is full of humorous tales often with unexpected endings. What makes the book unique is that the reader can go to any page and find a completely engaging and illuminating yarn. Sometimes people won't realize that they are reading about The Three Stooges or Popeye the Sailor until they come to the end of the story.
If you’re a fan of
Hollywood, this is a must read. Whether you like Bing Cosby, or you prefer Walt
Disney, there is something in this book for you. I was actually pleasantly
surprised by the range of stars featured.
As a huge fan of comedy, I was delighted to read the anecdotes about
comedians like Bill Murray. I had only gotten through a few pages when Lorne
Michaels was mentioned, and I knew right then and there that I would enjoy this
book.
While some of the
stories were just okay, most of them were actually quite funny. I don’t
recommend reading this book all at once though. I think you would enjoy more if
you only read a few anecdotes at a time. Maybe when you’re having a bad day,
you could pick this book up for a laugh. I’m pretty sure it would cheer you up.
The best thing about
this book is the fact that it doesn’t matter where you start it. If your heart
desires, you can open it up from the last page and begin reading it. Or you can
flip to some random page and start there. It really doesn’t matter, because no
matter what page you read first, it doesn’t affect the reading experience. So,
if you’re a fan of Hollywood, I think you should read this book.
