When I first got my book of Angel Eyes, it took me a bit to pick it up. Angels have been done to death lately in the young adult genre, and I wasn't sure else was out there to write about. But I was pleasantly surprised with Dittemore's debut, Angel Eyes, and the first in a new trilogy. Yes, there is a dreadful cliffhanger - so you are forewarned.
While the story starts out slow, setting the world and giving the reader time to get to know the characters, it really picks up the pace once you find yourself involved in it. There are some religious undertones but it doesn't take away from the secrets or the romance that blossoms. From cover to cover, I was hooked and I can't wait for the next in this series. Definitely not your average angel book - but so much more! Highly recommend!!
