A Seal at Heart by Anne Elizabeth

Being a Navy SEAL means everything to John 'Red Jack' Roaker, but a mission gone wrong has left his buddy dead, his memory spotty, and his world turned upside down.  His career as a SEAL is threatened unless Dr. Laurie Smith's unconventional methods of therapy can help him.

Laurie's father was a SEAL-and she knows exactly what the personal cost can be.  She can't resist trying everything to help this man, and not only because she finds him as sexy as he is honorable.

This book absolutely captivated me.  The action in the beginning sucks you right in and the character, depth and humor keep you right on reading.  I love the characters and how human they are.  I love the mystique in the background.  I love the fact that I was able to sit down and read this book without having to put up with chapters of war and sex.  What I found was a nice vacation from reality while delving into the lives of two amazing people and those who surround them.

I definitely suggest this book for you romance readers out there and those who love stories about heroes.  Though there's a bit of carnage in the book, it honestly isn't to the point that it makes the book difficult to read.  There's just the right amount of detail to give you a picture without going overboard.  You'll love spending time with these characters!

*I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.  Shawn

The old grey donkey, Eeyore stood by himself in a thistly corner of the Forest, his front feet well apart, his head on one side, and thought about things. Sometimes he thought sadly to himself, "Why?" and sometimes he thought, "Wherefore?" and sometimes he thought, "Inasmuch as which?" and sometimes he didn't quite know what he was thinking about.

Thank you for taking time out of your day to leave a comment. It's appreciated.
