An Heiress at Heart by Jennifer Delamere Review & Giveaway

From Goodreads - A youthful indiscretion has cost Lizzie Poole more than just her honor. After five years living in exile, she's finally returning home, but she's still living a secret life. Her best friend Ria's dying wish was for Lizzie to assume her identity, return to London, and make amends that Ria herself would never live to make. Bearing a striking resemblance to her friend, and harboring more secrets than ever before, Lizzie embarks on a journey that tempts her reckless heart once again . . .

A committed clergyman, Geoffrey Somerville's world is upended when he suddenly inherits the title of Lord Somerville. Now he's invited to every ball and sought after by the matchmaking mothers of London society. Yet the only woman to capture his heart is the one he cannot have: his brother's young widow, Ria. Duty demands he deny his feelings, but his heart longs for the mysterious beauty. With both their futures at stake, will Lizzie be able to keep up her façade? Or will she find the strength to share her secret and put her faith in true love?

Delamere's debut is an engaging historical regency romance that will have readers clamoring for a new book by her.

Lizzie makes a huge mistake and in doing so, she and her brother move to Australia.  She makes herself a life there, and a best friend, Ria.  They look similiar to one another but when Ria dies, Lizzie knows she is going home after five years.  At Ria's insistence before she died, Lizzie is taking on Ria's identity and going to make amends with Ria's family.  What Lizzie didn't count on was the sparks that fly between her and Ria's brother-in-law, Geoffrey Somerville.

Ria's husband had died and now Geoffrey was the new Lord, and as a vicar, he had no desires for the title or the responsibilities.  However, he wants to help Lizzie (Ria) and the two eventually begin to fall in love with one another.  However, there are two problems.  One, you can't marry your former sister-in-law, and two, Lizzie needs to come forth with who she really is.

A charming romance with likeable characters and set with enough historical detail to keep this reader entranced and up late turning the pages.  Not only does Lizzie needs forgiveness for herself, but she's trying to get it from Ria's family for her past sins and find a path for the future with Geoffrey.  Fans of regency romance will devour this one!

The old grey donkey, Eeyore stood by himself in a thistly corner of the Forest, his front feet well apart, his head on one side, and thought about things. Sometimes he thought sadly to himself, "Why?" and sometimes he thought, "Wherefore?" and sometimes he thought, "Inasmuch as which?" and sometimes he didn't quite know what he was thinking about.

Thank you for taking time out of your day to leave a comment. It's appreciated.
