Sheldonville, MA – CJ West launches his “Who Wants to be a Hero?” tour to introduce Gretchen Greene, the 3rd Randy Black novel.

Can you turn around a speeding car without slowing or leaving your lane? Can you handle a handgun? Pick out a killer wine? Play a tight game of Texas Hold ‘em?

Randy Black does these things and you can, too. The “Who Wants To Be A Hero?” tour will start you on your way.

Learn from the experts:
Advanced Driving & Security, Inc., North Kingstown, RI, teaches security drivers and executive protection teams. ADSI & CJ will team up for a demonstration of advanced driving techniques. Fans are invited to drive the closed course.

National Shooting Sports Foundation, Newton CT, was formed to promote, protect, and preserve the shooting sports. Join CJ and certified instructors for the First Shots Program. This day long program will teach firearms safety and allow participants to fire a rifle, shotgun, and a handgun.

Westport Rivers Winery, Westport, MA, site of Sin & Vengeance and potential location for Sin & Vengeance the movie, will host a winery tour and tasting. CJ will highlight events from his novel Sin & Vengeance and discuss the movie project.

CJ will give introductory Texas Hold ‘em poker lessons in book stores across New England. Fans are invited to sit down, learn, and play right in the store.

WHO WANTS TO BE A HERO?
Book Tour 2010

Hello Readers,
Gretchen Greene will be released March 31 and this year I'm doing something new for my tour. I've gathered a group of experts to teach you how to be a hero.
Sound like fun?
I'm giving newsletter subscribers the first chance for tickets to the special events. These events are published to the website now and will be announced to the public starting next week.
Advanced Driving Demonstration  (reservation required)
Advanced Driving & Security, Inc. (ADSI) trains security drivers and executive protection teams to react in dangerous circumstances. Join CJ and ADSI instructors for an advanced driving demonstration and learn how to control a vehicle in extreme situations. Guests will be able to drive on the mile long closed course for an additional fee. Tickets $20. Limited to 30 participants. This includes a copy of Gretchen Greene and the demonstration.
First Shots - Learn to safely shoot a handgun, shotgun, and rifle.  (reservation required)
Learn basic firearms safety with a certified instructor. This event is sponsored by the Gun Owner's Action League and the National Shooting Sports Foundation. Participants will learn firearms safety and marksmanship and then take their skills to the range. Because this event is subsidized, it is a huge value to participants. Participants will each shoot a handgun, a shotgun, and a rifle. Tickets $30. Limited to the first 30 reservations. This course at a for-profit range would cost nearly $200.  This day long event includes a copy of Gretchen Greene, instruction, ammunition, and range time. Participants must be 16 years old or older.
Private Winery Tour & Tasting  (reservation required)
Visit the setting of Sin & Vengeance and a potential site for the filming of Sin & Vengeance the movie. Tour the winery with CJ and experience events from the novel. Later, sample the excellent wines grown and produced on site. Tickets $20. This includes a copy of Gretchen Greene, private tour, and tasting. This event sold out last year, so get your tickets early.
Newsroom Tour (reservation required)
Visit a live newsroom editorial meeting. Danielle Williamson, the real-life Cassie Corcoran, will be on hand to guide us through the operations of a newspaper. Tickets are free, but this event is limited to the first 10 reservations. A date has not been set for this event, but if you are interested, please contact me so you can be assured a space when the event is scheduled.
Admiral Fitzroy Inn, Newport, RI
The owners of the Admiral Fitzroy Inn invite you to scenic Newport, RI for wine and cheese and a look at one of the settings for Gretchen Greene. CJ will be on hand signing books and talking about the setting for the latest Randy Black thriller. The Admiral Fitzroy Inn will be offering wine and cheese. Discount overnight packages are available.
Learn Texas Hold 'em    (reservation suggested)
Have you heard the buzz about Texas Hold 'em, but never learned to play? This year I'll be teaching Texas Hold 'em in bookstores across New England. Lessons are free with the purchase of a CJ West novel. Reserve your seat for a full one hour lesson. Several bookstore events are available and more will be added throughout the spring.
Complete information including dates and reservation information is available on the events calendar.
See you at an event soon,

CJ

PS. If you'd like a preview, you can read the first chapter on the books page.

The old grey donkey, Eeyore stood by himself in a thistly corner of the Forest, his front feet well apart, his head on one side, and thought about things. Sometimes he thought sadly to himself, "Why?" and sometimes he thought, "Wherefore?" and sometimes he thought, "Inasmuch as which?" and sometimes he didn't quite know what he was thinking about.

Thank you for taking time out of your day to leave a comment. It's appreciated.
