Interview with author Sidney Ayers + Giveaway

Thanks so much Sidney for visiting today!

SA: Thanks for inviting me!

Please tell us a little bit about your book, Demons Prefer Blondes.

SA: Demons Prefer Blondes is a snarky and humorous bend on a paranormal tale. Lucy Gregory is a half-succubus hairstylist—but she doesn’t know this until her friend and she open the Arca Inferorum (Chest of the Damned). Rafe Deleon, a Paladin Demon protector is sent to retrieve the chest. Uh-Oh! He’s too late. Now he’s charged with protecting Lucy from the demon prince Belial, the leader of an evil sect of demons. He gets more than he bargained for, of course!

How long did it take you to write it?

SA: I plotted the book in Bobbi Smith’s and Judi McCoy’s wrting class at RT in 2008. I was working on a historical regency at the time and set it to the side. However, Lucy and Rafe could not be quieted. I began seriously writing the story in Fall of 2008 and finished it about a year later.

Is there anything about Lucy and Rafe that only you know? Can you share anything with us?

SA: They are currently on their honeymoon. Yep! Even demons need a vacation every so often.

If you could see Demons Prefer Blondes on the bigscreen, who would you like to see play Lucy and Rafe?

SA: Jessica Biel has the look of Lucy. She can also play the attitude. For Rafe, It would be Dustin Clare, who played Gannicus in Spartacus: Gods of the Arena. He’s got the body and definitely has sexy down pat.

What books are you currently reading?
SA: I’ve been reading research books right now. I’ve got a few demonology and mythology books that help inspire my demonic world. I read mostly historical and paranormal romance when I’m not writing, though.

Are you currently working on another novel? If so, can you tell us anything about it?

SA: I just finished the copy edits for Demons Like it Hot, coming out in December 2011. I’m also writing book #3 in the Demons Unleashed series. It stars Kalli, an ancient demon and Dr. Joshua Carlson. Kalli plays pivotal parts in both Demons Prefer Blondes and Demons Like it Hot. Joshua plays a small part in Demons Prefer Blondes. He’s got his own secret and isn’t quite as boring as he seems

For those struggling to write that first book, do you have any words of wisdom to share?

SA: Finish it! But my main piece of advice can be found on my website: "Write what you love, love what you write... Otherwise no one else will either!"

Thanks so much Sidney!

SA: You’re welcome and again thank you for letting me visit.

DEMONS PREFER BLONDES BY SIDNEY AYERS – IN STORES JUNE 2011

A Bad Day For A Demon

Rafe Deleon is a senior demon and he resents like hell his assignment to Earth to retrieve the Chest of the Damned before it falls into the wrong hands. But then he meets beautiful, intriguing succubus Lucy Gregory, and she’s just unleashed a whole load of trouble…

Really Sucks For A Succubus

Lucy’s chic suburban beauty salon has suddenly become the Underworld’s center of mass chaos and destruction. The only good thing in a day going rapidly down the tubes is the arrival of a gorgeous demon who’s adamant that he can help her…

But Lucy has quite a few deeply unpleasant—not to mention deadly and hateful—surprises ahead of her, and surely there’s never been a worse time to try out a new boyfriend…
