Dead Reckoning by Mercedes Lackey & Rosemary Edghill

Description (from goodreads): Jett is a girl disguised as a boy, living as a gambler in the old West as she searches for her long-lost brother. Honoria Gibbons is a smart, self-sufficient young woman who also happens to be a fabulous inventor. Both young women travel the prairie alone – until they are brought together by a zombie invasion! As Jett and Honoria investigate, they soon learn that these zombies aren’t rising from the dead of their own accord … but who would want an undead army? And why? This gunslinging, hair-raising, zombie western mashup is perfect for fans of Cowboys vs. Aliens and Pride & Prejudice & Zombies.

I am not one to read historical fiction, but I was pleasantly surprised with Dead Reckoning, it was like the old western movies I watched with my dad as a kid, but with a fun twist, zombies. I don't know about everyone else, but right now zombies are my obsession, so that made me definitely more excited to read it. I liked the main characters and enjoyed that each of them had distinct personalities and traits and came from different backgrounds. I couldn't stop reading until I found out why the zombies were there, and how they were created, it was done in a way that was very different and interesting. Dead Reckoningwas a fun and unique western adventure.

*I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.  Nicole

The old grey donkey, Eeyore stood by himself in a thistly corner of the Forest, his front feet well apart, his head on one side, and thought about things. Sometimes he thought sadly to himself, "Why?" and sometimes he thought, "Wherefore?" and sometimes he thought, "Inasmuch as which?" and sometimes he didn't quite know what he was thinking about.

Thank you for taking time out of your day to leave a comment. It's appreciated.
