Booking Through Thursday

What, if any, memorable or special book have you ever gotten as a present? Birthday or otherwise. What made it so notable? The person who gave it? The book itself? The “gift aura?”

Out of all the books I've received in my life, I guess the one I cherish the most is an old History Textbook my mother gave me a few years ago. Its small, the leather is cracking, the pages are very thin, but I love it. It was published ages ago, and it was my Grandpa's History text for six grades.

The old grey donkey, Eeyore stood by himself in a thistly corner of the Forest, his front feet well apart, his head on one side, and thought about things. Sometimes he thought sadly to himself, "Why?" and sometimes he thought, "Wherefore?" and sometimes he thought, "Inasmuch as which?" and sometimes he didn't quite know what he was thinking about.

Thank you for taking time out of your day to leave a comment. It's appreciated.
