Skillet Bacon Jam review

Skillet Bacon Jam - bet your saying wait... what? I did a double take too when I saw the name on this condiment.

What is Skillet Bacon Jam?
we make this bacon spread condiment called bacon jam..you say what?.. that’s right, we use niman ranch bacon and render it down along with onions, balsamic and other spices . It cooks for several hours until it is a perfect blend of smoky, tangy, savory and slightly sweet….basically spreadable bacony goodness! USDA approved.

When I first received the jar, I quickly opened it expecting the smokey flavor of bacon.  I love bacon, I love the smell of bacon, but this jar wasn't just bacon.  Sure I smelled some bacon, but it mingled (nicely I might add) with the other flavors in the condiment.  Ok, so it smells good, now what to try it on?

I decided to heat up the bacon spread and try it on my baked potato.  Let me tell you that this was pure heaven.  The flavors bursts on my tongue, mingling together into delight.  It's a bit sweet, smoky, and I really enjoyed it.  Now, my kids wouldn't go near it just because it doesn't look right.  It looks like shredded bacon with some stuff in it.  But gosh it's good!  This would be a wonderful addition to your holiday dishes, or anytime really.  Live a little and go out of your comfort zone and try skillet bacon jam!!

The old grey donkey, Eeyore stood by himself in a thistly corner of the Forest, his front feet well apart, his head on one side, and thought about things. Sometimes he thought sadly to himself, "Why?" and sometimes he thought, "Wherefore?" and sometimes he thought, "Inasmuch as which?" and sometimes he didn't quite know what he was thinking about.

Thank you for taking time out of your day to leave a comment. It's appreciated.
