The Ark, The Reed, and the Fire Cloud (The Amazing Tales of Max and Liz) by Jenny T. Cote

Max is a scottish terrier and Liz is a cat from France. Two animals that you will come to love as you read this wonderful book. Max is taking a stroll along the loch one day and hears a humming noise. Curious he wonders closer, and sees how the wind catches the reed just so, making the interesting noise. As he is peering into the water, he hears a voice carried upon the wind. "Come to Me" , followed by "Follow the Fire Cloud." After speaking with his wise friend, he embarqs upon an unknown journey meeting many other animals along the way. The mysterious journey, filled with danger, humor, trials, and triumphs, leads them across Europe to the Middle East.

Max and Liz are soon the leaders of the group and the ark. The moment of arrival for these animals is spectacular as the ark is miraculously transformed into the animals' natural habitats. However, mystery soon surrounds the ark and its inhabitants as a plot slowly unfolds of a stow-away determined to kill Noah and his family, thus erasing the human race.

This charming novel is full of goodness, hope, faith, mystery and charm. I could just envision Max and Liz on the big screen as they re-told their adventure. This is an excellent book to read to your children. The lessons learned and challenges faced hold your interest from page one. A very imaginative tale of the biblical version of Noah's Ark. Highly Recommend!!

The old grey donkey, Eeyore stood by himself in a thistly corner of the Forest, his front feet well apart, his head on one side, and thought about things. Sometimes he thought sadly to himself, "Why?" and sometimes he thought, "Wherefore?" and sometimes he thought, "Inasmuch as which?" and sometimes he didn't quite know what he was thinking about.

Thank you for taking time out of your day to leave a comment. It's appreciated.
